Yoga

Zing has closed her physical doors and is going on the road! We are now an online studio. More information to follow!

The style of Zing Yoga is eclectic: Each class is different and depends on the day and the group. All the instructors have come through the Zing training so they are used to working with different body shapes, ages, stages and injuries.

If you're shy of starting in a class or would like to get a good grounding in the basics for at home practise or joining a class then there are regular beginner courses that take place on a Wednesday evenings and run for eight weeks at a time.

Beginners Yoga course

For those who have never done yoga before there is an 8 week introductory course that runs from 6.30pm - 7.30pm on a Wednesday night. Based around exploring the techniques of Yoga, it is a good starting point for your own practise and for those questions that often arise when people first start yoga. The course is $90.

If you do own a yoga mat please bring it with you. If not, you are welcome to use ours.

If you are interested in starting meditation at the same time the course starts at 7.45pm on the Wednesday night and you can do the double for $160.

Preggy Yoga

Pregnant

Pregnancy is a time of huge changes in the body and keeping the body moving, flexible, strong and feeling good can be a challenge. Our only class is Saturday, 8am. We also have a recorded session that we can send to you for $20.

Preggy yoga focuses on those areas that tend to tighten up as well as on getting you breathing deep and long for the 'business end' of labour. Breathing is no longer taught in most antenatal classes and yet I've found that most people have trouble breathing through uncomfortable yoga moves, let alone a contraction. Preggy yoga also works on keeping the body strong so that it is better able to keep up with the demands of a new baby once baby arrives.

There's also the social aspect in that classes have become part antenatal support group as well as yoga class as you all experience the various stages of pregnancy.

You can start class at any stage of pregnancy and go right through to your due date (and beyond if you can make it up the stairs). Preggy yoga is safe throughout the stages and you don't have to have done yoga at all before.

Meditation

Meditation

Beginners meditation course
For those who have never meditated before there is an 8 week introductory course that runs at 7.45pm on a Wednesday night. Based around exploring different forms of meditation and mindfulness techniques its a good start point for your own practise and for those questions that often arise when people first start meditating. The course is $90.

Taught from a multi-denominational perspective, the aim is for this to be safe for all paths that people may be coming from -  including the 'I don't know' version.

If you are interested in starting yoga at the same time the yoga course starts at 6.30pm on the Wednesday night and you can do the double for $160.

Gentle Yoga

Gentle yoga is a relaxing mixed class made up of simple moves designed to slowly stretch the body. Nothing is too difficult or strenuous. Suitable for beginners or pregnant women up to 5 months.

Hippy Yoga Class

A beautiful brew amongst candle light of gentle yoga, restorative yoga and meditation/savasana (lie down). Hot towels, earth tea and essential oil provided.

Beginner friendly. This class is fabulous for shifting stress and switching off from the world.

The classes are designed to suit all sorts of body types, fitness levels and lifestyles; whether you're a desk bound corporate who desperately needs a stretch and some postural realignment or a long distance runner looking to build your core stamina, you are likely to find yourself alongside each other on the mats.

Zing Core is also filled with the laughter that is characteristic of Zing...it's a great core work out in itself.

Zing Core takes a combination of yoga, strength training and a crazy imagination and creates an all over body work out. Focusing on your abs and back as the powerhouse of the body, the classes work on creating awareness, strength and length in the body. The beauty of them is that your body makes the moves harder the stronger you get and because no one class is exactly alike, you don't tend to get bored or lazy.
